虽然主办这个项目的大学不是常春藤院校了啦，但是这个项目本身却声誉在外，被认为是全美最好的夏校之一。

Clark Scholar 由德州理工大学主办，克拉克学者项目意在吸引有才华的学生。项目为学生提供了在相对紧张密集的研究环境中，和杰出的研究员一同工作的机会。

这个七周的项目还包括了每周的研讨会、讨论组以及实地考察。在这样的研究气氛中，在其他研究人员和同龄人的包围中，对学生提升批判性思维能力以及发展职业兴趣无疑是大有裨益的。项目会参考学生的学业水平、教师推荐信以及学生的职业目标录取合适的人选。

克拉克学者研究项目的独特之处在于，它的涵盖范围相当广泛，几乎不限制任何一个学术领域内有才华的学生来申请。不仅仅面向在自然科学、数学方面有天赋的学生，人文学科或者艺术类的学生也同样欢迎。有许多参加者运用他们在克拉克学者项目中取得的经验来构建他们自己的职业规划和目标。

Women’s Technology Program

The MIT Women’s Technology Program (WTP) is a rigorous four-week summer academic and residential experience where female high school students explore engineering through hands-on classes, labs, and team-based projects in the summer after 11th grade.

WTP is not a “summer camp” but an intense academic experience. Curriculum information is available on the WTP-EECS and WTP-ME sites-check these before applying to see if you have already covered our curriculum. WTP is designed for girls who have demonstrated their ability to excel at math and science in their high school classes, but who have no prior background (or very little) in engineering or computer science.

Sixty participants (40 for EECS and 20 for ME) are selected from a nationwide applicant pool of the top female 11th grade math and science students. We receive over 500 applications each year.

The Stanford Summer Humanities Institute brings together academically talented high school students grades 10 – 11 from around the world for a three-week residential program led by distinguished Stanford professors.

Students spend the first two weeks intensively studying and researching a topic in literature, history, or philosophy, attending daily lectures by the faculty members, and participating in group discussions and activities in the afternoon. There is also downtime for extra-curricular fun as well as supervised off-campus excursions to places of cultural and natural interest around the Bay Area.

During their third week, students work closely with their professors, graduate students, and writing mentors to produce original research projects.

To encourage interactive learning, class sizes are small and typically range from 14 to 18 students. In this collegial setting, you will practice the art of healthy debate, learning to communicate clearly and diplomatically on complex topics. Although courses do not have letter grades, they are challenging.

At the end of the program, you’ll receive a written evaluation from your instructor, as well as a Harvard transcript with a grade of AR or NM (“requirements met” or “requirements not met”). This is a great way to supplement your college application.

With over 30 courses to choose from in each session, you’re sure to find a topic that piques your interest. You take one course during a session.

Ross Program 罗斯数学营

The Ross Program at Ohio State University is an intensive summer experience designed to encourage motivated pre-college students to explore mathematics. During those six weeks, students are immersed in a world of mathematical discovery.

Dr. Arnold Ross founded this multi-level program at Notre Dame University in 1957. Its growth was then spurred by the launch of the Sputnik satellite and the subsequent surge of interest in science education. Arnold Ross’s Program has run every summer since then, moving to Ohio State in 1964. It is currently sponsored by the University.

The value of a mathematics education lies not only in obtaining proficiency in computational tasks, but also in building a foundation for critical thinking. Students who have never asked why things work the way they do are not prepared to lead the way to future scientific innovation. It is precisely this independence of thought and questioning attitude that the Ross Program strives to nurture.

The SUMaC courses focus on puremathematics—that is, mathematics that is motivated independently of ties to other sciences—nonetheless, important applications are introduced and pursued along the way. The SUMaC courses are not for credit or grade—they are designed for pure mathematical enrichment.

SUMaC offers two courses with unique topics for each course. Students are enrolled in just one program during the summer, and the two programs allow students to potentially return for a second summer. The two programs take place simultaneously from July 16– August 11, 2018.

Both programs feature the research project where students pursue course topics in greater depth. This project is one of the highlights for SUMaC.  For this activity, students initially work in groups under the leadership of theTeaching Assistants, and using journal articles, advanced textbooks, and other materials.  At the end of the course, students give presentations on their topics to their peers, giving them experience in the important activity of communicating mathematics.
