英国康德夏校游学之旅
On 2nd July, 2019, some of our students, accompanied by their teacher, took the flight MU551 from Shanghai to London for a study tour at the summer school of Concord College UK, which departed at 14:00 pm Beijing time. It took 11 and a half hours for them to arrive at the British airport safe and sound at 18:34 pm London time. They reached Concord College UK around midnight local time. Teacher Serena Liu said that during the three weeks of study tour, she saw a big change in the students. They felt homesick at the beginning, but did not want to leave at the end of the trip; they felt difficult to follow the curriculum at the beginning, but actively made learning schedules in the following days. Our students improved their adaptability and independence rapidly. Besides, Teacher Liu expressed her gratitude to Shanghai Concord’s leaders for their trust and giving her the opportunity to witness the students’ growth during the overseas study tour.
2019年7月2日，上海康德部分学子在老师的带领下兴致高昂地搭乘了上海—伦敦MU551航班，踏上了远赴英国康德夏校的参观学习之旅。航班于北京时间14：00起飞，途中历经11个半小时，于伦敦时间7月2日18：34安全、顺利抵达英国的机场。当地时间晚上约12点大家到达英国康德学院。带队老师刘苏莹表示，在英国康德充实而美好的三周里，她在同学们身上看到了很大的转变，从开始的“想家”到“我都不想回去了”，从开始的“课程不适应”到“积极安排自己的学习”，同学们的适应性和独立性都得到了飞速的提升。刘老师非常感谢上海康德校领导的信任，让她可以在英国康德夏校活动中见证同学们的这些成长。
During the trip, filled with curiosity and enthusiasm, our students explored and experienced UK culture by studying and living there with peers from over 40 countries and regions. The curriculum they took there was both fun and challenging, which opened up magical doors one by one for them, unlocking their unlimited potential. Through the colourful courses, our students saw a remarkable improvement in their scientific practical abilities and English skills. Meanwhile, they have acquired many new skills, including cooking, survival in the wild, and horsemanship. In addition, they visited some local small towns with pleasant scenery and unique characteristics, including Chester, Shrewsbury, Oxford, Telford, and Bath.
在这三周里， 上海康德学子满怀好奇与热情，与来自40余个国家和地区的学生相聚一堂，尽情探索和体验英伦文化、学习和生活。夏校的课程设置兼具趣味性与挑战性，如同向我校学生推开了一扇又一扇的神奇之门，开拓了他们的无限潜能。通过这些紧张有序并且多姿多彩的课程学习，同学们的科学实践能力和英语综合能力都实现了质的提升和飞跃。与此同时，他们还解锁了许多新技能， 比如烹饪、野外生存、马术等。另外，在学习之余，同学们还参观了一些风景宜人、各具特色的当地小城镇，包括切斯特、舒兹伯利、牛津、特尔福德、巴斯等。
Teacher Liu noted that the students felt very excited when they were invited to the house of Mrs. Gail Denham, former principal of Shanghai Concord, for dinner, where the friendly atmosphere warmed all the students present who were far away from home.
刘老师还说，本次学旅期间，同学们还惊喜地收到我校前任校长Gail Denham女士发出的做客邀请。在Denham女士的家里，同学们品尝着她亲自准备的丰盛晚餐。亲切温馨的气氛让远在异国他乡的同学们倍感温暖。
