At 9:00 am on July 31st, we set off for the university of Bristol to enhance academic exchanges and to further explore British university culture.

University of Bristol, built in 1876 and located in the southwestern city Bristol, is one of the world top 50 universities, which is famous for its combination of academic innovation and excellence and its dependent perspective. The UoB has always been at the forefront of global research and has cultivated 13 Nobel laureates. Moreover, both the world famous physicist Paul Dirac and the former British prime minister Winston Churchill graduated from this university. It also remains the top 10 of the UK in various authoritative world rankings, and has once ranked the 27th of the world.

We came to the Queen's building, where the School of Engineering is located, to hear Professor Dawei Han's insights into the sustainability of water resources. The professor pointed out that nowadays when science is universally accepted, the possibility is the necessary scale for predicting the future, and the possibility is based on the data, which indicates that the importance of data cannot be ignored. Similarly, the collection of water resources data cannot be ignored. At present, there are three methods of radar, satellite and rain gauge to carry out data monitoring of water resources in various places. From these data, we can estimate the problems and plan ahead, launching a series of solutions such as sponge city and South-to-North Water Transfer.

This lecture gives us a deep understanding of the great power of data and the efficient way to solve problems with data. It provides a basis for our future work and points out the direction for us. Also deeply guided by the professor: One discovers his ignorance only through learning; there is still a lot of knowledge we are craving in the future study life. We must continue to study hard, expand our knowledge, and enrich ourselves!

Subsequently, one of the Professor Han’s outstanding students introduced us to her innovative research results. The senior is committed to the detection of water indicators, and assess them from physical parameters, chemical parameters, biological parameters. The current progress is only limited to the collection of data, but with data and plans, we believe that in the near future they will be able to get the desired results.

Besides, the senior is a beautiful Italian girl who smiles a lot. She will come to Chongqing to study in September next year. We look forward to meet her again.

In the afternoon, we came to the most beautiful city in the UK - Bath. Located in the southwest of England, Bath is a famous tourist town in the UK. It is the only city in the UK to be listed as a World Heritage Site. It is about 100 miles from London and belongs to Cotswow in eastern Avon, England. Bath means "bathing" in English. The Romans first discovered hot springs here and built a huge bathing place. Today the ancient bathing site is a relic of the Roman era in England.

The famous designer John Wood of the 18th century completely designed Bath, and the old town was left at the same time. The Royal Crescent is the most imposing large-scale ancient building in Bath. It was built in 1767-1775 and consists of 30 buildings with a total of 114 columns. The roads and houses of the Royal Crescent are arranged in a crescent moon shape, showing the elegance and aristocratic style, and are regarded as the noblest street in the UK.

How could such a beautiful scene be without the company of artists? In the streets of Bath, there are singers who play cappella, painters with imaginative hands and performance artists who poses still... They lead the charm in their own way, decorating this fairy-tale-like town wonderfully.

Simple yet elegant, clean and full of style, this is my first impression of this most beautiful city in the UK. European-style buildings full of British atmosphere are neatly laid on both sides of the road, gilded by just the right amount of daylight and scented with a faint perfume. All this can not help but make people feel time pacing quietly and gracefully, which is the very truth that the pace of life here is very slow. With a bunch of sunshine, a wooden table, a cup of coffee, a group of pigeons, it seems that one can sit for the whole afternoon peacefully.

With the bustling crowd, we were fortunate to have witnessed the appearance of the Roman baths. Walk through the atrium, a pool of green and clear water came into view, which is completed with the intricate columns of ancient Roman architecture and grand palatial architecture that surrounds it. The pure and bright blue sky reflects the crowd standing on the second floor. All this made our minds wander, suddenly bringing us back to the magnificent bathing scene at the ancient time.
