西行渐学记——滨海学子2019美国夏校起始篇

成长需要日积月累，蜕变或许只是转瞬
2019年7月11日，宁波滨海国际合作学校夏校海外学习再次启动，31名师生集结完毕，在宋登水副校长的带领下从上海出发，正式开始了为期23天的美国夏校之旅。

行路  远

跨越大洋，飞行时间以两位数计算的夏校之旅不可不谓“行路远”，然远方有着我们对国际文化、异域风情的无限憧憬与向往，即便遭遇了飞行不可预计的延误，即便经历了长途的辗转，在落地的那一刻，我们雀跃不已，为着即将到来的夏校历程。

文化熏染

抵达华盛顿的第一个清晨，当大巴行驶在街头，一侧是古希腊风格的建筑，一侧是绿茵绵延，白宫、林肯纪念堂、杰弗逊纪念堂、华盛顿纪念碑标志性建筑比邻接踵地进入视线，似乎是美国的历史展演与重温。我们有时屏住呼吸，因为震撼；有时惊呼，因为欣喜。

科艺浸润

 探访“美国航空航天博物馆”，我们体会到了美国在航空领域的征服自豪感及对未知领域的不懈探索精神。“美国国家美术馆”就像一个巨大的艺术宝库，收集了西方美术史中各个里程碑式的美术作品，当我们与如此众多的艺术真迹面对面的时候，我们难以置信又流连忘返。

游戏快乐

此次夏校课程主要部分是位于弗吉尼亚州的北跨学校，我们先期抵达的是北跨学校的学生公寓。与国内大部分学校不同的是，在这里人们更关注课堂以外的时间。公寓内提供各类游戏、运动、艺术活动的空间，我们很快融入了其中，与来自美国的四个志愿者一起，打乒乓、玩游戏、唱歌、跳舞、交流，夜晚与周末变得这样的多姿多彩。

求学  诚

最最期待的事情终于到来。我们穿上校服，兴奋地来到 North Cross School。第一次来到美国校园，没有因为陌生而胆怯，我们踊跃发言，认真笔记，沉浸在Film Studies, Gothic Literature, Current Global Issues, Persuasion: Writing and Speaking, and Spanish Art & History等纯正的美高课程中。尽管一开始我们都觉得有那么一点难，需要更多的努力，然而主动学习让我们那么充实。

新鲜的课程与生活让学生们体验到了美国顶尖私立高中的学术水准，优良的体育设施让学生们在紧张学习之外能够张弛有度。尽管目前到美国仅有一周时间，学生们还是收获满满。以下分享一些学生的习得体会:

胡一帆

Now I am on the sofa in my dormitory, looking back on the hard course of these days. I have just become a member of a team in our 2019 NBICS Summer School in the United States. Together as a team, we fought through the whole way until the touch down of our plane. In the past days, we experienced many unexpected challenges which were only seen in movies, running to catch our flight, looking for hotels due to the delay of flights. But we won the fight together as an army, as an unbreakable team. Most of us were a little shy, not willing or confident to talk with foreign people in English, But slowly we opened up to the communication with foreign people. Even though we only had a little time in the afternoon, we also felt the enthusiasm of foreign friends. This reminds me  one sentence I liked very much” Do what makes my soul shine.” I'm doing something to make my soul shine!胡树就Before I came to the United States, I didn’t expect much for this Summer School, which has too many trips, activities and school works. Even worse, we stuck in the airport due to the delay of our plane because of the bad weather in the Northeast part of US. We were totally exhausted and still need to take taxi to relocate to a nearby hotel for a short sleep. Fortunately, when I arrived at the dormitory of the North Cross School, I got to know some local students. It is always good to make new friends. My new friends are very nice and helpful. They tried their best to facilitate the settle down of us, guest from the other part of the earth. I hope that the itinerary will continue smoothly in the coming weeks, and I hope that we can all benefit from the Summer School..

Although we spent hours travelling from China to USA, we still enjoy this special experience. Most students didn't even care about the delay of our flight and the tiredness due to jat-lag. They were excited in seeing their first sunrise in their life on the plane. We really enjoy the wonderful school life in America. America is also using its beauty to welcome us. This country is embracing us, and we as visitors are becoming part of the amazing country.

First of all, congratulations on our successful arrival at North Cross School. After the first two days in the school, I was deeply impressed by the native customs of American people and the importance of teamwork. I hope we can make progress and study together in the following weeks. And we will leave a good impression to the school. Most importantly, we will improve our English ability, so as to make this summer school meaningful.

After a long journey, we finally arrived. It is my first time to travel abroad and join a summer school. All the foreign teachers in North Cross School are very nice and patient. To my surprise, some of the teachers can speak good Chinese. The next day we went to the water park, named Splash Valley, and had a wonderful time there. This going-out served as the Ice-Breaking activity for all the students to get to know each other in a deeper way. The relationship between me and my teammates was getting closer. All in all, I can't wait to start my wonderful summer school life here, North Cross School in Roanoke, Virginia. Without a doubt, tomorrow will be a better day for me. Looking forward to it. —Suzy

 
 成长需要日积月累，而蜕变或许只是转瞬。“行千里路”是一种重要的习得方式，夏校的第一周让每个学生都有不同程度、不同方面的成长，或独立了，或开朗了，或自信了，夏校之旅还在继续中，让我们共同期待滨海学子又一次的华丽蜕变吧！
